This evening we are happy to present to you a free download of Nite Sprite's remix of "This Is Not". We met this strapping young lad at a show in Norway, and he was so kind to make us a remix. He's been sitting on it for a while, so it is with much anticipation and excitement that we release it to you now. Enjoy!

Thoughts on releasing new material http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/thoughts-on-releasing-new-material Mon, 21 Nov 2011 09:51:12 +0000

We've just returned from a week of recording in Sweden. Our friends in The William Blakes lend us their house up there and we spent a good five days just writing music. The result was a lot of new material and we are very happy with the outcome. We've been talking alot lately, about how we want to release our material in the future, and we're thinking about doing smaller releases rather than full albums. The album process can be very exhaustive and we definitely feel that releasing EP's might suit the way we write much better. This would mean that instead of releasing an album every two or three years, we'll instead do oen or two a year with fewer tracks on them. Who knows. We're just thinking out loud.

Tour diary #2: UK http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/tour-diary-2-uk Mon, 30 May 2011 17:03:42 +0000 At the time of writing this we are in a hotel in Manchester. Earlier today we drove from Nottingham where we played yesterday. We've been a part of the Dot to Dot festival which is a travelling music-festival here in the UK, and it's been all hit-and-run gigs for us. You know, "get in, do your stuff, get out, next!"-kind of shows, which are fine and good to do sometimes, but now we are looking forward to playing a proper show in London tomorrow, soundcheck and all. We have been blown away by the positive feedback we have received over here, and we hope tomorrow and fridays gigs will be great too. Thank you brits, for your support! http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/tour-diary-2-uk Tour diary #1 http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/tour-diary-1 Sun, 22 May 2011 19:04:47 +0000

Our tour is off to great start. In an hour we'll be on stage in Magnet Club, Berlin and tomorrow we are set for Uebel & Gefährlich in Hamburg. We are having a great time and enjoying the warm weather. It's nice to get out and about in Germany and see that a lot of people actually show up at our concerts. We don't always know what to expect when touring outside Denmark, so it's really heartwarming to get the kind of support that we are getting right now. Thank you everyone and we'll see you soon.

We are just about ready to leave for a week of touring in Germany. We've been too Germany before and we are ever so excited to go there again, as the last visits have been a blast. We are looking to seeing all of you again, and please do stay tuned here for pictures and other stuff from the tour.

Thank you Helsinki and Oslo http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/thank-you-helsinki-and-oslo Sat, 14 May 2011 19:14:00 +0000

We have just set foot on danish soil again after a weekend in the good company of some nice fins and norwegians. It was a baptism of fire for our new flight-friendly setup, but we managed to get through the shows with next to no issues - except for an on-stage computer-meltdown in Helsinki and an acute lack of drumsticks in Oslo.

It means the world for us that we're able to play outside Denmark and still have a proper audience. So thanks to everyone who showed up in Helsinki and Oslo this weekend. You blew our minds.

Next up: Germany and the UK ->

The discography is live! http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/the-discography-is-live Tue, 26 Apr 2011 20:02:59 +0000

A few weeks ago we sat down and discussed a possible discography section on this site. We quickly came around to the idea that we wanted to include evereything we had ever released, and we wanted to build it so you guys could stream all the songs too. No 30-second snippets, just pure full-length stream. So that's what we did and without further ado, we give present our Discography!

This new section of our site will give you a nice overview of everything we've ever released, and we hope you'll have fun digging into the it, as well as watching it grow over the coming years. If you feel somethng is missing, find bugs or inconsistencies, please let us know in the comments or email veto@vetonet.dk.

Final night of the DK tour http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/final-night-of-the-dk-tour Sat, 02 Apr 2011 16:50:28 +0000

We are nearing the final show of our tour here in Denmark. We've had a blast and we want to thank all of you who showed up for making every night exciting and fresh. Honestly, we were pretty nervous of how the new songs would be received by you, but you have put all of fears to shame. You have been an amazing audience. Thank you. Truly, thank you.

Our good friend Rasmus Weng Karlsen joined us this weekend, and he made the above video for us.

A fresh start http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/a-fresh-start Mon, 28 Feb 2011 14:10:14 +0000

So, we redesigned our website. Again. This time we'll try to keep it for more than a month.

As some of you might know, we handle the programming and design of our website ourselves. We like to maintain control with this, our last bastion, in a web full of social-advertising and consumer-interaction. This is not a social network. This is not a myspace site or a facebook page. This is our website. Our rules.

We want to do something more with this little corner of the web. We want to build new and exciting ways to interact with you guys and foremostly we want to be able to build what we want, when and how we want it. Cue vetonet.dk 2.0.

I am sure you can find all kinds of bugs on these pages, and if you do please email us at veto@vetonet.dk and we'll try to fix it straight away.

If you have any good ideas for new features please don't hesitate to drop them in the comments or email us. We are listening to your requests.

We received the video for This Is Not a few days ago, and now we thought it was about time we showed it to you guys. This Is Not http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/this-is-not Tue, 18 Jan 2011 12:19:02 +0000

With the holidays safely out of the way, we are back at work, putting all the finishing touches on Everything Is Amplified. We have the cover and other wrappings all in place and now we just need the mixes back from mastering. All is good.

"This Is Not" - the first single from the album - is available trough all the usual digital vendors. We have had some issues with it not being available in other territories than Denmark, but we are working on fixing that. We had our first live show in a long time on Danish national television last friday. With new songs and new gear, it was quite the nervewrecking night. But everything went smooth and we feel confident, that we will be ready for the coming live shows. One of our biggest ambitions for 2011 is to play more shows outside of Denmark. We will of course publish the dates here, as well as on our social profiles around the web, when they are confirmed. Stay tuned.

A holiday rant... http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/a-holiday-rant Tue, 21 Dec 2010 09:53:34 +0000

We're done with the mixes and now all we have to do is listen to it during the holidays, maybe tweak it a bit afterwards, and then it's done. We are not in any position right now, to say wether the album is what we set out to achieve artistically, but we can say that we are proud of the process we've gone through. We've learned a lot about each other and more importantly what we want from this band.

We've seen some commenters on Facebook and Twitter voicing their concerns, over wether or not they'll be able to recognize us, or if we have gone too far and too deep into the process, loosing sight of the end-product and the listeners. We are probably not the ones to judge this, but in our opinion, it's not the case. The underlying structures, the architecture of the songs, the band in general and the philosophy behind it, are the same as always. But, maybe there is a change, in the way that, we've all become older during the last couple of years (obviously). Maybe we've realized that there are other, equally or more important things in this life, than "the next album". Maybe we've just tried to not let the process consume us so much. To not let it suck the joy and friendship out of being in a band. That is the biggest change we've gone through, I think. Our music might reflect that, who knows. Maybe it's loosened up a bit.

Enough ranting. Happy holidays and a happy new year to everyone. May it be a good one.

The imminent mix http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/the-imminent-mix Tue, 14 Dec 2010 20:42:14 +0000

On thursday we will embark on the final stage of the recording-process: the mix. This definitive stage marks the end of the recordings we started around a year ago. On monday the mix will be sent to the guy that masters the whole ordeal. When he's done, the album is sent to the factory that prints and presses the albums, and it's also submitted to the various digital distributors. After that it's just a matter of time before it hits the street. So by monday, it's basically out of our hands. We have eleven tracks we are considering for the album. Maybe we'll pull one and be down to ten, maybe we won't.

During the process a lot of things have changed for us. It's hard to define exactly what it is, but it's feels like we have broken down some barriers in the group. Maybe we have become more optimistic. To tell you the truth, we have always defined ourselves from what we didn't want to be. This time around we haven't really talked or thought about that, but instead tried to focus on what we wanted to be or what we wanted to achieve with our music. I think you can hear that in the album.

Final stages http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/final-stages Thu, 28 Oct 2010 08:36:27 +0000

A video teaser from the studio!

We are nearing our final stages. That is a broad term as we don't expect the album to be out in the wild before early spring, but it is none the less, the stage we are facing. We are considering what tracks to put on the album, finishing up on the rough songwriting and arranging and are preparing to enter the nitpicking-phase of the process.

Round 2543...ding! http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/round-2543-ding Tue, 19 Oct 2010 08:30:01 +0000

We are fast approaching the next round in our studio on Amager, and this week just might be the defining one for our next album. We are standing on the verge of figuring out what the hell it is we are trying to do this time. Admitted; we have been very confused - and to a certain degree we still are - when it comes to the collective artistic expression on this, our third album. Maybe we have been too long apart, or maybe we just have higher ambitions than we have had before. We are definitely more critical towards the material than we have been in the past. We throw material out, rework it comprehensively or start over many times during a day (and night). The only plan, the only common goal we have right now, is to produce the best album we're capable of right now - a comprehensible end-point. The hard part is finding out where "there" is and how to get there. Hopefully, we'll find out during this week.

On releasing snippets http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/on-releasing-snippets Fri, 01 Oct 2010 05:09:32 +0000

Last week we released a short snippet of a song we are working on. It was a very unorthodox thing for us to do, as we have always kept unfinished material close to our chests. But our fears of releasing songs prematurely were put to shame, as the feedback we received was amazing. The idea behind it all was to let you guys in on what we're doing, why we're doing it and what choices we are making during this, the recording of our third album. The facebook page was quickly filled with comments on the link to the snippet, ranging from pure ecstasy to sheer dissapointment. It was mindblowing! We felt truly connected and all of a sudden we were not alone with the music anymore. We value your comments and input - good or bad - so keep 'em coming. Thank you!

Artwork http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/artwork Thu, 30 Sep 2010 19:16:07 +0000

Things are moving forward. Tomorrow we'll be meeting up at our secret lair on the island of Amager and try and get back in sync after, a couple of weeks apart. We have a lot of things we need to take care of; the most important one right now, is to find out who we want to do our cover-art and other graphic work in relation to the album. The two previous albums had their faces formed by the ever-so-talented Niels Fyrst (Crushing Digits cover in collab. with Andreas Peitersen), and maybe he will be doing the next one as well, though we are looking a little harder for available options, this time around. We are meeting with this guy some time during the weekend, to talk about what he might envision for our artwork. Exciting times.

And...we're back...in the studio http://www.vetonet.dk/blog/and-we-re-back-in-the-studio Mon, 26 Jul 2010 07:05:21 +0000

Things sure have been quiet around here, huh? We've practically been in hibernation for the last six months (explanation follows), but with the launch of this site, we hope to bring you up to speed about the new album we're working on. For now this is just a blog, but we will gradually expand with new features.

The times they are a changin', and so are we. We have been working on this, our third, album for around six months, and things are starting to come together. We have had a lot of semi-existential talks, in an effort to get back in sync with each other. For the last two-three years we have done nothing but touring, so no new material was written, no songs were made, and there was certainly no time to hang around in a studio. As you might have noticed we haven't played a show anywhere (except for one in Århus) for a very long time. This has been a conscious decision, as we maybe felt we were over-playing ourselves. It was a way for us, to avoid being fed up with it all, and to prevent fatigue in the the band.

After a relatively long break apart from each other, we booked a few weeks in a studio in Copenhagen. We had no new material, and no common ground to stand on. The last time we did an album, everything just came out of nowhere, and suddenly we had the material. This time around, things have proven to be a little different.

Right now we are focusing on trying to figure out what the soundscape for the album is and where we want to go with this, our third album. These are exciting times for us.
